Court Time Policy

Glenunga Basketball Club is registered in and offers its member the opportunity to play in a Domestic Basketball competition. It recognises that for some players, regardless of age, it may be their second or alternative sport – and/or their first year playing basketball. The commitment to play however is important for both players (teams) and their families, and the coaches. 

A playing spot with the Rams is highly valued. There is an expectation that apart from injuries, illness, or important family or school events, players are expected to attend each training and game, every week. (Most players’ development occurs during team training sessions rather than during games). 

If players meet the Rams’ expectations (Respect Attitude Mates Success) and commitment, during regulation season games, they can expect to receive roughly even court time. During any finals games, players will earn their playing time based on attitude, ability, attendance at training, and potential to contribute to the overall team’s success. Having regard to this Policy, court time as a whole is at the discretion of the coach for each individual team. 

The Glenunga Rams Basketball Club is committed to success and the development of players, so working with all of our coaches to understand what their requirements are towards player (and team) success and development is important.
